63 kickboxers to clash this weekend

Sixty-three fighters will be clashing against each other at the STRIKE: Redemption tournament slated for this weekend.

The two-day event which will be kicking off March 9 will contest several titles with fighters from Brunei, Malaysia, Philippines and Indonesia vying for them.

Fighters from Brunei – Wali Rahman of Silverback Muay Thai, Saufy Jaman from Nak Muay Fight Gym and Aaron Lim from Project Mayhem – will be squaring off against ther international counterparts in the STRIKE 73KG K-1, 62KG MMA and 60KG K-1 categories.

Highlight of the event however will be a match between Sunny ‘The Silencer’ Sabornido from Malaysia and Indonesia’s Arie Ananda Putra the title of the Borneo ISKA 57KG K-1 champion.

Event organiser STRIKE Promotions in a press conference said that it will be heightening its security and work closer with the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) to avoid the setbacks experienced in its first kickboxing tournament last year.

Supported by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS), the event is also held in partnership with Setia Motors, Jerudong Park and Country Club as well as BruPay.
