AirAsia kept its winning streak as it continued to receive the top honours at the World Travel Awards Asia and Ocenia 2019, which is the seventh time in a row since 2012.

The low-cost airline company emerged ahead of regional players such as Scoot, Jetstar, SpiceJet, Nok Air and Firefly in categories for Asia’s Leading Low-Cost Airline and Asia’s Leading Low-Cost Airline Cabin Crew.

Receiving the award on behalf of the company at the Vinpearl Convention Centre, Vietnam recently was AirAsia Malaysia CEO Riad Asmat.

In a statement, the CEO said that it was an honour for the company to receive the award for the seventh time, as it meant that guests and industry colleagues recognised the low-cost carrier’s ongoing efforts to develop new and innovative products and services.

“We would like to thank our All-stars, especially our award-winning cabin crew, for their hard work and commitment to delivering and providing the best experience for our guests,” the CEO said.

World Travel Awards Founder Graham E Cooke lauded AirAsia for continuing to set the benchmark for low-cost aviation in Asia and beyond.

“Its dedication to improving its services remains unrivalled and I am delighted that it has been acknowledged by both the travel trade and the public having been voted ‘Asia’s Leading Low-Cost Airline 2019’ and ‘Asia’s Leading Low-Cost Airline Cabin Crew 2019’,” Cooke said.

The World Travel Awards is one of the most prestigious, comprehensive and sought after awards programmes in the global and tourism industry used as a mechanism to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across key sectors of travel, tourism and hospitality, since its establishment in 1993.
