The Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam (AMBD) has issued a total of $100 million sukuk (Islamic bonds) at a rental rate of 0.1875 per cent.
The country’s central bank in a statement recently said that the 184th issuance of sukuk was made on August 6 and will mature on November 5 based on a 91-day tenor.
With the issuance, the Brunei government has thus far distributed over $13.97 billion worth of short-term Sukuk Al-Ijarah securities since the maiden offering on April 6, 2006.
The total holdings of the Brunei Government sukuk outstanding as of August 6 stood at $357.6 million. – Analisa Amu
