THE Australian High Commission is opening five slots for its Postgraduate scholarships to Bruneians.
The scholarships are part of Australia’s initiative to strengthen its bond with other ASEAN countries, an initiative formed as a result of the ASEAN-Australia Special summit.
A total of 50 potential students will be selected throughout ASEAN countries to study in the country’s world-class educational institutions next year.
Upon completion, successful graduates including the five potential Bruneians will become part of the Australian Global Alumni network.
Australian High Commissioner to Brunei Nicola Rosemblum said that over 12,000 Bruneians have studied in Australia.
“Australia and Brunei share a close bond, embedded in our people-to-people links (and) education has played a major role in developing this close bond,” she said.
“I am pleased that through these Scholarships, the links between our two countries will be further strengthened,” she added.
Additionally, the application for the scholarship award will be closed on April 30, more information can be obtained at www.bruneidarussalam.embassy.gov.au
