
BenchLab is set to launch its first line of online courses in May in an effort to make learning more accessible and affordable to Bruneians and beyond.
The local skill-sharing platform which has hosted over 3000 hours of offline courses since May 2018, provides access to learners on online courses designed by Brunei-based freelance instructors.
By learning the courses online, learners will be able to study at their own time, direct interaction with respective instructors, and earn e-certificates upon completing their courses.

These beginner-friendly online courses which are priced at just $20 each, contain pre-recorded video lessons on various areas of interest conducted by respective course instructors.
Each online course will be “live” for seven consecutive days, during which learners can access their lessons anytime and interact with instructors.

Academic Writing 101
If you seek to improve your writing and research skills, you may want to consider taking Dr Petra’s course which is slated to start on May 4 until May 11.
The course aims to introduce the essential steps for quality writing and initiate better research techniques that foster good comprehension – useful for students and professionals.
Financial Planning for Parents
For those interested in managing family finances, BenchLab also offers the course from May 7 – 14 May 2020, prepared by a certified financial advisor, Esjay Loh.
The course aims to introduce an effective plan in achieving your family financial goals and give guidance in identifying and reaching financial benchmarks.

Impress Your Interviewer
Fata Abdullah, the founder of Brunei- and Malaysia-based fashion company, Qafa Haus, is also one of BenchLab’s online course instructors.
From May 11 – 18, Fata’s course will focus on essential interview preparation skills for job-seekers looking to stand out amongst the competition.
By the end of the workshop, one will be able to plan the preparation of a job interview effectively and demonstrate pleasant etiquettes at a job interview, address common job interview scenarios, among others.

Health and Nutrition 101
Brunei’s Health and Nutrition consultant, Lim Fun will also be empowering learners on how to adopt healthy eating lifestyle amidst the many choices of food in Brunei.
One of the course objectives is to promote several healthy lifestyle practices that you can easily follow and integrate into your daily lifestyle. The lessons will be available online from May 11 – 18.
Adobe After Effects
Enhance your video production by learning to create animated video with BenchLab’s multimedia editor, Momo.
The course which aims to give the basic overview of Adobe After Effects will be available from May 15 – 22.
