BIBD awards its first Aspirasi winners

Two Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) account holders were selected as the first winners of BIBD Aspirasi, taking home a prize of $25,000 with them.

The lucky winners were Muhd Khairun Hazim Hj Mat Sani and Mohd Afzal Rashid, whose account number and name were drawn in an event held at BIBD Kiulap today.

Drawing the names were the Islamic bank’s Head of Retail Banking Hjh Nurul Akmar Hj Md Jaafar and BIBD’s member of Shariah Advisory Board Dr Abdul Nasir Hj Abdul Rani.

Muhd Khairun Hazim who is a curator at the Malay Technology Museum said he was overjoyed to win the quarterly prize, thanking BIBD for the opportunity.

In an interview, he said BIBD Aspirasi has helped him manage his finances in a more disciplined manner, adding that he will also increase his savings with the product from time to time.

“I see the consequences of not saving because I love to shop, and to me, it is important to have a strong saving platform and BIBD Aspirasi has helped,” he said.

Additionally, 10 BIBD Aspirasi winners taking home the monthly prize of $2500 each.

BIBD Aspirasi is a fixed-income product aimed to promote better financial management to the people, in line with the financial inclusion drive championed by the Islamic bank.

Awarding its winners yesterday, the bank also pledged to continue its campaign to promote better savings culture to the people.
