Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) recently extended its support for students under its BIBD ALAF (Advocating Life-Long Learning for an Aspiring Future) with the offer letter signing event for BIBD ALAF Scholar Saiful Azmi Saradin.

Signing on behalf of BIBD was its Head of Government Relations and Special Projects Haji Mohammad Yusri Haji Wahsalfelah.

Saiful Azmi is the second student to be offered the opportunity to pursue his education at the Al-Azhar University in Cairo.

At the event, BIBD also launched its ALAF internship programme which saw four BIBD ALAF students given the opportunity to gain invaluable working experience. The three-month internship programme will see the students gain experience at various departments within BIBD to expose them to real-world working conditions which is intended to better prepare them for their future employment.

The selected students also received a hands-on briefing by BIBD’s own Chief Human Resource Officer Habibah Haji Harry who also proceeded to sign their internship programme letters at BIBD.

The event also celebrated the remarkable achievements of BIBD ALAF students who recorded successes at their 2018 O-level and A-level examinations.

Present as the guest of honour was the bank’s Deputy Managing Director cum Chairperson of BIBD ALAF Board of Trustees Hajah Noraini Haji Sulaiman.

Also present alongside the BIBD ALAF students were BIBD ALAF Taskforce officers from the Ministry of Education’s Department of Schools and the Ministry of Religious Affairs’ Islamic Studies Department, along with the respective parents of the BIBD ALAF students.
