BIBD receives ISO certification for excellent services

Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) recently received the ISO certification 9001:2015 for its excellence in provision of retail customers onboarding and personal financing service.

It is the first bank in the sultanate to be awarded the international recognition dedicated to Quality Management System (QMS) consistently across all of its branches.

BIBD Deputy Chief Operating Officer Hj Minorhadi Hj Mirhassan at a ceremony held at the bank’s headquarters expressed his delight over BIBD’s achievement.

Alhamdulillah, we have obtained ISO certification which has allowed for a number of turnaround time improvements across the board ensuring a faster, more responsive customer experience while mitigating any potential risks to build and maintain a service delivery that does not lack in quality, creates a cohesiveness in our communication and an adherence to regulation and compliance to provide an unparalleled customer experience,” he said.

He also said that this instilled discipline demonstrates the true Bruneian culture of professionalism while maintaining its Bruneian at Heart ethos that truly reflects a commitment that is unmatched.

The ISO 9001:2015 certification assessment was carried out by the business standards company British Standards Institution (BSI) which facilitates business improvement by helping its clients drive performance, manage risk and grow sustainability.

On his part, BSI Malaysia Managing Director Poon Cheong Yuen said the recent achievement will enhance BIBD’s ability to consistently provide services that meet customer satisfactions.

“The certification fulfils the international standards requirement and assures BIBD’s customers they care about delivering the best quality, cost-effective and consistent service with utmost focus on Customer Satisfaction”, he added.

BSI Lead Auditor Lim Tuan Chee praised that the bank has an excellent QMS in place and awareness at all the level of process.

“QMS records filing, traceability was good and easy to retrieve demonstrating the top management commitment, company’s systematic and process-driven approach to quality performance, execution, service consistency, and will meet the needs of stakeholders and employees,” Lim said.

In attendance at the event were BIBD Managing Director and CEO Mubashar Khokhar, BIBD Deputy Managing Director Hajah Noraini Haji Sulaiman along with the bank’s senior management and personnel.
