Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) made a visit to Sekolah Rendah Merangking in Ulu Belait yesterday to get updated with the educational progress and living conditions of its ALAF students there.
The bank’s entourage, which include senior management officials, members of its corporate social responsibility team and BIBD ALAF volunteers took the chance to mingle with parents and teachers of its ALAF students to ensure their educational progress are well tended to.
Besides presenting educational materials to the school, BIBD also engaged with the local community to see what kind of assistance it could provide in terms of education and other development.
BIBD’s Head of Government Relations and Special Projects Hj Mohammad Yusri Hj Wahsalfelah highlighted the importance of a holistic approach in tackling the nation’s educational developments.
“In line with Brunei’s vision 2035 aims to create well-educated and highly-skilled people to impact the economy, it is essential that we holistically keep in tune with the unique needs and capabilities of our youths,” he said.
“At the same time, we also need to collaborate with the right stakeholders to continue ensuring that the skill set we invested in are focused towards fostering sustainable growth to the economy,” Hj Mohammad Yusri added.
