The Brunei Mentors for Entrepreneurs Network (BMEN) has recorded 300 mentoring engagements by established business owners, industry experts and professionals in the country with micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from across various industries since its inception in 2019.
The initiative which is a close collaboration between Darussalam Enterprise (DARe) and ASEAN Business Advisory Council of Brunei Darussalam (ASEAN-BAC Brunei) is a voluntary platform for business mentors to share their knowledge and experience.
BMEN currently has over 70 mentors from diverse expertise and background such as banking, innovation, marketing, technology, youth engagement and participation, branding, strategy and architecture, among others.
Under the programme, mentees can pick their own mentor according to their field of interest via BMEN’s directory and interact with their respective mentor in-person or video call.
At a recent appreciation event for the mentors, Chief Executive Officer of DARe Javed Ahmad said that a growing number of mentors and associations signifies an encouraging development and that established businesses are giving back to those who need guidance in their business journey.
He also urged more MSMEs and mentors to join BMEN as mentorship is helpful for business growth and development.
