One more patient has recovered from the COVID-19 infection as the sultanate reported no new cases for 16 straight days, maintaining the national tally at 138.
Minister of Health Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Hj Md Isham Hj Jaafar in a press conference revealed that only six active cases are still treated at the National Isolation Centre.
A total of 131 individuals have recovered while two patients still in critical condition, with both requiring respiratory and heart/lung machine (ECMO) assistance.
At present, a total of 2551 individuals have completed their quarantine, while 24 individuals are currently undergoing quarantine in accordance to the Infectious Disease Act (Chapter 204).
In the past 24 hours, 134 samples have been tested for SARS-CoV-2 virus, bringing the total number of laboratory tests conducted since January 2020 to 14,610 tests.
Meanwhile, no recovered patients have been re-admitted to the NIC adding that one case has been allowed to return home, the health minister revealed.
“This brings the total number of such cases as of today to 22 individuals that have undergone further investigation and have been allowed to return home,” added the Minister.
