Centre for Islamic Banking, Finance and Management (CIBFM) recently partnered with Projek Bina Ukhwah (PBU) to host a financial planning workshop targeted at underprivileged families in Brunei.

Held at the ILIA Building in Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), the workshop aimed to raise awareness about the importance of monetary planning, and share with the families several tips to achieve long-term financial stability.

Throughout the workshop, all of the 11 participants were taught the fundamental elements of financial management as well as the importance of financial planning and savings.

While the workshop is in-line with CIBFM’s aim of improving jobseekers’ marketability, it was also in tandem with PBU’s objective of providing an education platform that could empower marginalised groups, including the underprivileged.

PBU also believed that educating underprivileged families is an important step to help improve their living conditions.
