Golden sunsets, spectacular views of Brunei’s riverside landmarks at night and a relaxing evening cruise along the tranquil Brunei River – a wholesome experience newly introduced by Continental Tours and Travel.

The travel agency’s first Brunei River Cruise package which is inclusive of a dinner buffet lets holidaymakers enjoy a night cruise starting from the city to the Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Bridge.

The three-hour cruise is the perfect feast for the senses; from the stunning views of the heart of the city that lit up at night to the tranquil sounds of the mangrove forest.

Departing from the Queen Elizabeth II Jetty in Kg Dato Gandi, passengers will embark on the MV Sentosa ferry cruise that can comfortably accommodate up to 60 people.

During the course of the cruise, our team had the chance to experience the breathtaking views of iconic sights, including the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Bridge, Brunei Technology Museum and the Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Bridge, among others.

The first stop on the itinerary was the historical islands and landmarks around the Kota Batu area which one of the highlights was the remains of the 1980s ‘Muzium Kapal’ by the river.

On the other side was a picturesque view of Pulau Berambang that stretches before our eyes. The island is home to a string of small fishing villages and farms.

Aside from the expansive view of the pristine mangrove islands, we also witnessed a variety of life as we passed along the idyllic river; from fishermen enjoying their catch of the day to children running on boardwalks with kites.

Furthermore, we also had the chance to explore the two-storey MV Sentosa that features upper and lower lounge areas and a front and back deck area where you can take in the outside views.

We spent most of our time on the front deck watching the stunning sunset over the towering bridge infrastructure while enjoying the gentle, cool breeze.

As the sunset blends with the growing night sky, we saw the magical view of the Sultan Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque and Kampung Ayer illuminating the evening.

As we entered the banks of the river near Jong Batu, contrasting against the dark skies and hidden behind the vast mangrove ecosystem was a glimpse of the golden dome of the majestic Istana Nurul Iman.

During the cruise, passengers also had a chance to savour the delicious buffet spread of local delicacies while enjoying the sparkling views of the city.

Moving forward into our journey and into Brunei Bay, we had the chance to experience the stillness and quietness of the night, away from the bustling city.

The most memorable part was cruising beneath the magnificent Sultan Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Bridge which links Brunei-Muara, Tutong and Belait Districts with Temburong District.

It was our lucky night as the megabridge was cast in pink light in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness in October.

Overall, the Brunei River Cruise package priced at $40 per adult and $35 per child is definitely a great way to unwind and enjoy the enchanting views of Brunei’s riverside landmarks at night.
