Local cycling squad G530 Superteam recently hit another record on Malaysian track after claiming the second top spot at the recently held RHB Langkawi Ride 2019.

The race which was held for the first time require participants to cycle 100km around Langkawi, pitching their cycling skills and pedal powers against some of the renowned cyclists from around the world.

Team Captain Muhd Raffiudin Zikara admitted that the race was a tough one for his team as they had to struggle against the flat-winding terrain, challenging gradients and fast-tracked descents, besides keeping up their pace against other international cyclers.

He however added that the thrill was one of the top reasons why G530 Superteam decided to join the contest.

“We need to improve ourselves while also gaining international experience and exposure,” he said.

He also added that the team’s participation in the Langkawi ride was to prepare them for the upcoming Brunei Classic event, scheduled for July 7.

Besides the team finishing up second, the team also received a boost of confidence when one of its members Razif Salleh won the Men Open Category.

Over 1,000 cyclists from 22 countries including Australia, United Kingdom, United States, Brazil, Austria, Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Japan and South Africa participated in the event.
