Dress up this Raya with exclusive bespoke pieces from Khoon Hooi, a Malaysian fashion label with designs inspired by the olden day kebaya.

Just for the Bruneian market, there are 18 made-to-wear pieces in the 2018 Raya collection, each in various styles and silhouettes beautifully made in delicate fabrics such as silk satin, silk taffeta, lace and jacquard, among others.

The Malaysian fashion designer Khoon Hooi said the collection was very much inspired by his grandmother dressed in kebaya.

*quote*“Although we are not Peranakan descendants, my grandmother always wore them (kebaya) as it is part of the lifestyle in Northern Malaysia. The Raya collection is targeted for every woman to be worn not only for Raya but also any occasions. They can wear again and again as well as mix and match,” said the designer.

Each design has very neat and clean embroidery, rhinestone embellishment and fine lace. One of the standout pieces include a classic short kebaya and candy-stripe sarong and a lace kebarung paired with a tangerine inner piece.

The designs were launched for viewing and order on April 22 at Bajoo’ Fashion House store located in Kg Mata-Mata, Gadong.

Khoon Hooi’s label has participated in Paris Fashion Week for the past 12 seasons and his ready-to-wear collection currently stocked in exclusive boutiques in Middle East, Europe and Asia.
