Anjung Saujana Restaurant invites you to an opportunity to indulge in the diverse flavours of Malaysia at its annual Malaysian Food Festival.
The 10-day food festival runs until November 4 showcasing the Best of Mamak Street food, through a buffet spread featuring 80 mouth-watering dishes.
Some of the dishes include Nasi Kandar, Mee Goreng Mamak and Mee Rebus, among others.
The delicacies are carefully selected and prepared by invited Malaysian chefs from Riverside Restaurant Kuala Lumpur, Mohazam Ahmad and Mohd Fairuz Khan Mohd Rafi Kannan.
Mohazam, who has worked in the food industry for 26 years, told The Bruneian that the difference between Malaysian Indian food and Bruneian Indian food is the level of spiciness.
The chef’s most popular dishes include the comforting and perfectly spiced Black Spiced Beef, alongside the well-loved Nasi Kandar and desserts like Gulab Jamun.
Guests at the event were taken on a culinary adventure from different states of Malaysia as they indulge in the scrumptious spread of delicacies.
“Malaysia is a country whose diverse population brings a myriad of rich flavours into their cuisines,” said Acting General Manager of Royal Brunei Catering Hj Jeff Hadiman Dato Paduka Hj Danial, in his speech at the launch of the festival last night.
Present at the event were Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali Apong and Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy who is also Chairman of the Royal Brunei Catering Board of Directors Dr Haji Abdul Manaf Haji Metussin.
Throughout the festival week, the Malaysian buffet will be available every day from 6.30pm to 10.00pm with prices at $24.90 for adults and $12.90 for children.
In addition, the festival also invites Pusat Bahagia residents and a local caricaturists to showcase their creations and designs at Anjung Saujana.
Diners will also stand a chance to win two return tickets to Penang, an Asus Laptop and a Samsung Galaxy J6 smartphone.
