WE OFTEN ask what activities or events can we engage in over the weekend.

Brunei Tourism Board’s recent initiative known as ‘Brunei.events’ in collaboration with Progresif Cellular and managed by Mixmediaworx, can give you the answer.

Brunei.events is a dedicated app and web service designed to enable companies and organisations to promote and manage their events online while at the same time creating awareness among the community on happenings in the sultanate.

Launched by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali Apong, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism, the platform is an ongoing effort to improve the quality of tourism services and increase tourism activities in the country by providing a centralised, publicly accessible event calendar.

The platform lists out various kinds of events ranging from festivals such as the Brunei December Festival, cultural activities, road shows, exhibitions, sports and games like the upcoming Beach Bunch Trail Challenge in March, Wing Chun class for kids, KSSB Run as well as Paper Flower Making workshop and Make Up class with makeupbyqahar, among others.

There are many other events that you can search in the platform that will take place all year round.

Not only does the platform provide with details on what’s happening, it also includes places of interest in Brunei through its ‘Experience Brunei’ category which might come in handy for tourists.

It lists out Brunei’s prominent landmarks such as the Royal Regalia Museum, Brunei Arts and Handicraft Centre, Omar ‘Ali Saiffudien mosque, Kampong Ayer and Brunei Museum.

On top of the free event promotions provided in the platform, events also get additional extended promotional posts on Brunei.events’ official Instagram and Facebook.

Brunei.events was the official online hub for the month-long Brunei December Festival and the platform was well-received and saw positive engagement by members of the public and event organisers.

You can download the app ‘Brunei.events’ for free from Google Play and follow their Instagram ‘Brunei.events’ to get the latest updates on upcoming events.
