Local video production company Filterworks Productions has reached another milestone with the screening of their short films at the upcoming Minikino Film Festival in Bali, Indonesia.
The fictional films that will be showcased from October 6 to 11 include ‘Langkah’, ‘The Delivery’ and ‘Hamster Wheel’ directed by A’aqil Ahmad, Liyana Hanif and Azeez Danial, respectively.
The films were part of the 17th S-Express Short Film Program Exchange that provides film-makers across ASEAN an opportunity to screen their short films.
“To have it showcased is humbling and motivates us to produce more, as we look forward to produce longer length films,” said Filterworks Productions Co-Founder, A’aqil Ahmad.
“We hope it encourages local productions to seek opportunities in the regional market and abroad,” he added.
‘Langkah’ depicts the tale of an aspiring swimmer working an office job who doubts her career when she meets a familiar face who is living hers.
‘The Delivery’, which was a 48-hour production experiment, finds a pizza delivery man that is convinced to be living an ordinary life and then starts a night shift that triggers a dark premonition.
Meanwhile, ‘Hamster Wheel’ which was produced during the 96 hours Brunei Film Blitz, showcases main character, Rahim, struggling to deal with his break up and undergoes an unlikely experience.
