After a gruelling six-month-long competition weighing-in unprecedented 600 hopefuls since April, Fitness Zone (FZ) finally found winners for their inaugural New Me Transformation Challenge 2019.
Bringing home two return tickets to London and a one year membership at FZ was mother of two Jenny Hii who wowed audiences with her before-and-after transformation.
Winning the Royal Brunei (RB) Fitness Take Off Challenge category, the retiree hoped that her fitness journey would set an example for her family and inspire everyone to constantly improve their health.
She told The Bruneian that her participation was a spur of the moment decision, motivated only by the need to accompany her own daughter in her weight-loss journey.
Little did she know, she would bag the top spot, eventually falling in love with the results of her own fitness transformation, which she shared along with her FZ teammates.
“I just love how everyone in the competition encouraged and supported each other. Overall, it was such a positive environment,” she added.
Speaking of her path to victory, Hii took to a lot of weightlifting, cardio and yoga, all the while maintaining a healthy and high protein diet, which she added was an important aspect for her progress.
“Hopefully it does inspire others to know that it (enhancing their fitness) is possible for anyone”.
As the winner of the category, Hii was also presented with a Cuckoo water dispenser, a WoMen hair voucher andd a Tanita BMI Scale.
Meanwhile, family man Amali Abd Rahman was named the winner of the New Me’s Progresif Weight Loss category by losing a whopping 48kg walking away with a cash prize of $5,000 and a return ticket to Tokyo, Japan.
Amali clinched first place in the category through regular exercise sessions at FZ while also maintaining a well-balanced diet. During the award ceremony, the newly transformed Amali recounted the love and support that he received from his wife.
“She gave me strength, she kept me motivated every step of the way”.
Fitness Zone’s Managing Director, Wu Chun lauded all the contestants for giving their best in the challenge, describing their tenacity as inspiring and noteworthy.
“For me, the key (towards a healthy and active lifestyle) is perseverance, focus and passion. I see these qualities in many of the contestants from the New Challenge,” he said.
