Five students under the UnikLearn scheme were feted in a ceremony held at the Rizqun International Hotel in Gadong today after completing their six-month course with flying colours.

These students rose above their facilitators’ expectations as they performed well during their training, which programme includes hands-on practical conducted by local startup UnikKone Ice Cream Pop Up.

The inaugural programme which was opened in April was created by Startup Brunei and An-Nur Harapan to give differently-abled people a proper exposure to workplace environment.

The six-month course were also carefully arranged to allow students to adjust themselves to their professional surroundings.

Graduating from the programme, the five students have now started their three-month workplace internship to Noice Café, Royal Brunei Catering (RBC) and Project Ice Cream to build a career that could give them a sustainable income.

The UnikLearn programme will continue to supervise and monitor them during their internship placements.
