Grand Motors is introducing the new DS 7 Crossback – a compact premium Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) that is perfect for some cruising escapes in the city – this week.
This new model of the French-made DS premium line has all the premium materials, refined craftsmanship and technological innovations giving new levels of driving comfort and performance.
For the Brunei market, the distributor of DS Automobiles along with its dealer Auto Makmur are bringing in two variants for the DS 7; Grand Chic for high spec and So Chic for low spec.
Both specifications come with a 1.6 litre capacity 4-cylinder PureTech turbo engine in 6-speed automatic transmission.
The DS 7 Crossback presents a prestige and powerful look complemented with elegant designs particularly on the new diamond-effect grille that sports a hexagonal surround of dynamic lines.
The DS brand always puts emphasis on the vehicles’ light signature, a key feature of the DS styling.
The LED modules of the DS Active LED Vision headlamps emit purple lights when the crossback is unlocked before pivoting progressively at 180 degrees, giving pleasing and hypnotic visual effects.
The brand’s eminent light signature is underlined by the vertical beads of the daytime-running lights combined with the scrolling indicators.
Moreover, the DS 7 features an avant-garde interior with two 12-inch screen displays placed at the centre of the cabin.
The screens strongly underscore the high-tech identity of the DS 7 Crossback interior through their design and finish.
Not only the interior is modern but also chic with each material and detail of the model inspired by Haute Couture, sensuality and nobility visible in small details.
The upholstery which are either Nappa leather or grained leather extends from the dashboard, steering wheel, grab handles, seats to the door panels.
The SUV pays attention to drivers’ driving comfort and on-road safety with the use of leading-edge technology.
Its DS Safety draws on six major functions to make the road safer for the driver namely; DS Night Vision, DS Driver’s Attention Warning, DS Active LED Vision, Electronic Stability Control, Anti-Lock Brake System, and Hill-start Assist Control.
For the DS Night Vision, the infrared camera located at the front grille identifies objects, pedestrians and animals on the road at a distance of up to 100 meters.
The DS 7 Crossback is the first vehicle in the segment to include night vision.
The Driver’s Attention Warning feature will trigger an alert once it detects that the driver has not taken a break after two hours of driving at a speed above 65km/hr.
The vehicle will display messages encouraging the driver to take a break accompanied by an audible signal which alert is repeated hourly until the car stops.
Grand Motors is set to unveil the SUV to the public at DS showroom on October 19 after the exclusive launch to invited guests on October 18.
To know more about the car, the DS team will be having a roadshow at The Mall from October 17 until October 21.
