Veteran artist Osman Mohammad is currently running a solo art exhibition at the Brunei International Airport, under a partnership with local event managing firm JRA Barakah.
Dubbed the ‘Horizon’, the showcase gathered a total of 38 artworks made by Osman, depicting beautiful landscapes across the country – from past to present.
These include paintings of mosques, sceneries at Kg Ayer and various views deep within the green jewels of Brunei.
Osman who sparked his interest in arts since his primary school days began working as an artist before becoming a designer at Radio Televisyen Brunei (RTB).
Since 1975, he had actively participated in various art exhibitions, including those held in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, India, Bangladesh, England, Japan, South Korea, and China.
JRA Barakah in a statement said that the exhibition was aimed at exposing the depth of Brunei’s art scene to international visitors and travelers, while also introducing various forms of arts to the younger generation as a career pathway.
Additionally, ‘Horizon’ was also aimed at featuring the Brunei International Airport as an interesting and enjoyable meeting point, besides being a case study for design and art.
Launching the exhibition yesterday was the Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism Wardi Hj Mohd Ali.
The showcase will be running until January 11 next year.
