Insurans Islam TAIB General Takaful (IITGT) yesterday opened its new IITGT i-CARe Centre with hopes to provide convenient road assistance and vehicle emergencies services to customers.

The service centre which is located at the Green Industrial Parkland in Jln Tungku Link was initiated by IITGT with its strategic partner Bengkel Kereta Berakas (BKB).

BKB Executive Officer Hj Md Fuad Hj Zaini who is also in charge of IITGT i-CARe said that the new centre comes within the framework of BKB’s strategy, pointing out that the road assisting service have been expanded in stages to provide convenience and assistance to customers covered by IITGT through the Motor Vehicle Takaful Scheme.

The i-CARe Centre is designed to help problems such as vehicle breakdown, dead battery, flat tyres, accidental key lock, emergency fuel and provide towing as well as transport service, among others.

Hj Md Fuad further said that the service centre has received around 100 to 150 calls per day or estimated 4,000 to 5,000 calls a month from all four districts.

“55 per cent of the calls were from Brunei-Muara whereas 25 per cent from Belait,15 per cent from Tutong and the other five per cent from Temburong,” he said.

He also said that IITGT i-CARe is keen to extend its services to Sabah and Sarawak should there is an increasing need of assistance.

Moreover, the company has hired more local staff to work around the clock catering to the growing number of customer’s needs.

“The centre has also increased the number of female roadside assistants to help female customers who faced vehicle breakdowns,” said Hj Md Fuad.

Catering to the increasing service needs, BKB will add two trucks, double cab and saloon vehicles to its logistic requirements as well as increase its motorcycle services Car Accident Response Service (CARS) to provide faster and safer assistance service which is now known as Motor Claim Guidelines (MCG).

The renovation work on the centre started on February 14 this year and located close to Accident Care Centre (ACC), a first in the country, which can further strengthen the quality of service to IITGT’s customers especially those involved in road accidents.

BKB has been the strategic partner of IITGT providing road assisting service since November 1, 2012.
