Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) and Japan Airlines (JAL) announced a codeshare agreement that will allow JAL to offer four weekly flights between Bandar Seri Begawan and Tokyo Narita.

With the partnership, RB will place its code on flights to major cities in Japan, such as Sapporo, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, offering greater options for its guests. 

Ticket sales will begin from February 14 on all channels and major GDS, for travels from February 17, subject to regulatory approvals.

RB’s Chief Executive Officer Karam Chand said that the airline launched its four times weekly flights between the capital cities in March last year and it is already one of the popular routes.

The ceo further said that RB is delighted to have JAL as its newest codeshare partner on this route which supplements the airline’s network with more cities in Japan, offering more travel options for RB guests.

“We warmly welcome Japan Airlines guests onboard our flights which will be operated using one of our game-changing A320neo aircraft,” he said.

Both RB and JAL guests, he added, can look forward to the modern cabin features of the aircraft, RB’s award-winning service that is known for Bruneian hospitality and an unmatched level of in-flight entertainment (IFE) with more than 1,000 entertainment content to enjoy on-demand at every seat.

On his part, President of JAL Yuji Akasaka said that they are also delighted with the new partnership with RB.

“It is honorable for us to add Brunei, a colorful exhibition of fascinating customs and rich nature, to our network. This agreement will further expand JAL`s international network, which is extremely valuable for our business model.
