Three goals from sensational striker Adi Said ensured Kota Ranger FC 3-1 victory against MS ABDB in the Charity Cup match at the Hassanal Bolkiah Stadium on Saturday.

The match was a curtain raiser for the upcoming Brunei Super League that is slated to commence on February 29.

Former DPMM FC player Adi Said, who debuted with Kota Ranger FC as team captain, proved his prowess with two first half goals before completing his hattrick in stoppage time.

The win handed Kota Ranger their latest silverware after winning last year’s FA Cup.

In the evenly contested match, both teams showed promising game yet to be thwarted by unclinical finishes.

The breakthrough came in the 39th minute as Adi slotted in the goal after receiving a good cross from the right side.

Four minutes later, the unmarked Adi got to a through pass and calmly put the ball into the net, frustrating ABDB goalkeeper to give the FA Cup winner a comfortable lead heading to the dressing room.

A refreshed MS ABDB with tactical change and direction played better and had their chances noticed, yet could not find the net.

Kota Ranger, however, managed to launch a few counterattacks but to no avail.

Here at the 90th minute at last when Adi again got his chance to curl a beautiful goal for his hattrick, and moments later MS ABDB managed to score a consolation goal from Khairul Mee with a close range shot to conclude the match and win the Cup.

The trophy and medals were awarded by Second Minister of Defence, YB Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (R) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi Haji Md Yussof.
