orty-two orphans from the Brunei-Muara District received donations from the TIBA Petrol Station Cooperative (KOTIBA) during its Hari Raya celebrations yesterday.

Held at Borneo Kopitiam, the Raya celebration was part of the cooperative’s continuous efforts to help the less fortunate and participate in charity activities.

“The event is a part of our social responsibility as a company,” said Hj Muhsin Hj Ahmad, the chairperson of the event.

The recipients were from five villages; Kg Salambigar, Kg Tanah Jambu, Kg Sungai Tilong, Kg Manggis Satu and Kg Manggis Dua.

Hj Muhsin said the recipients were identified by the Community Development Department (JAPEM) and the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

The event was then followed by an appreciation ceremony for KOTIBA employees in two categories; Best Pump Attendant Award and Excellent Pump Attendant Award.

“Employees are the key to the growth of KOTIBA petrol station. We want to ensure our employees are valued and appreciated,” Hj Muhsin said in his speech.

Guest were then treated with an array of food to celebrate Hari Raya.

Also in attendance was Haji Rosdi Amin Dato Paduka Haji Yaakub, Chairman of the KOTIBA Board of Director, as well as members of the Board of Directors of KOTIBA.
