BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN
LiHO Tea, a Singaporean bubble tea brand, is eyeing to open more outlets in the sultanate following the launch of its first Brunei branch recently.
Master Franchisee of LiHO Brunei, Jeffrey Chia, speaking to The Bruneian, said that he is planning to have eight to ten outlets in the Brunei – Muara district.
“I am looking somewhere in Manggis, Serusop and Bunut areas where there are traffic and population around it… maybe in Giant Rimba too, if possible,” he said.
Despite the trending coffee culture in the local market, Chia believed that there are Bruneians who love tea very much as well.
“It gives me the confidence to bring the brand in because people love bubble tea and there are over 90 LiHO Tea outlets in Singapore, another reason for me to open it here,” said Chia, adding that the brand was founded in June 2017.
LiHO, a Hokkien Chinese word for “How are you?”, is owned by RTG Group and opened its doors in Brunei last October at Times Square Shopping Centre, making its debut with its popular choice Brown Sugar Pearl series.
RTG Group Managing Director Rodney Tang noted that consumers are more health conscious and know what they want in a drink.
“They fit into the bubble tea trend as (bubble tea) brands typically allows you to customised your drinks according to preferred ice and sugar levels. We focus on healthier choices such as stevia syrup, fresh fruits and ingredients…,” he said.
The Singaporean franchise offers customers five different types of tea drinks to choose from namely; Cheese Tea, Brewed Tea, Fresh Milk Tea, Milk Tea and Fruit Tea.
It recently launched new flavours such as Avocado and Salted Egg Milk Tea series which are available at LiHO Brunei and soon, Singapore Tea Sling.
“I believe Bruneians will love the brand, the drinks… customer is everything. We try to listen what they really want and make sure we understand what they like from their heart,” Tang concluded.
