A total of $15,200 was raised through the Malaysian Association (PWM) to help cover the medical expenses of an injured Malaysian man.

Tan Meng Huat was hit by a fallen tree when he was hiking at Tasek Lama Recreational Park recently, causing three fractured ribs and hurting his back, lungs and kidneys.

The monetary donation was raised by PWM from the local and Malaysian community in Brunei as well as members of the association.

A mock cheque was presented to Tan’s spouse by PWM President James Lee at Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital.

The 55-year-old man was transferred from the Intensive Care Unit to the ward after his condition improved who also thanked the association for the kind gesture.

Present to witness the hand over were executive members of PWM and representative from the Malaysian High Commission in Brunei.
