Just graduated and thinking of continuing your studies?

Fret not because the Ministry of Education will be holding the first-ever virtual Higher Education Expo 2021 from 15 to 21 February, providing multiple pathways and educational opportunities available locally with just a click of a button. 

Speaking to the media during a press conference, Head of the Higher Education Division at MOE, Hjh Anis Faudzulani Hj Dzulkiflee said that this year’s expo will be conducted online as an alternative platform to face-to-face events, in compliance with guidelines set by the Ministry of Health. 

“This year’s virtual expo aims to create a ‘Real Life Time’ experience similar to previous Higher Education Expos to provide the public with an opportunity to interact with expo participants over live chat and video conferencing,” she explained.

A total of 27 higher education institutions, educational services agencies and other relevant government and private agencies will participate in this year’s expo; 13 of which comprise public and private higher education institutions while the remaining 14 consists of public and private agencies.

The Higher Education Expo will also conduct activities such as webinar sessions from several local educational institutions and associations through Zoom. 

These sessions will also include application procedures for the Higher Education Centralised Admission System (HECAS), scholarship opportunities, new programmes introduced by higher education institutions, graduate success stories and many more. 

The expo is open to the public, especially for secondary and pre-university school leavers with Brunei G.C.E. ‘O’ Level and ‘A’ Level or equivalent, planning to pursue higher education such as National Technical Education Certificate (NTec), Higher National Technical Education Certificate (HNTec), Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree and Doctoral Degree as well as those who wish to do upskilling or reskilling. 

According to Hjh Anis, the Higher Education Division is already in talks with the Department of Schools on setting up “centres” in their respective schools, to cater for students who may not have access to computer devices or internet. 

Members of the public who wish to participate in the expo may register online through the Higher Education Expo portal https://heexpo.moe.gov.bn starting from Monday, 8 February 2021 at 9 am.
