Local customer loyalty mobile application Muappy officially launched recently with 30 vendors across multiple sectors already available within the platform.

In a ceremony held at Universiti Brunei Darussalam, the app founder Dr Reneiro Andal Virrey described Muappy as a digital platform that would “eradicate” the need for physical membership or loyalty cards.

Through Muappy, users can earn discounts and reward points from an array of merchants including Iskandar Curry House, Feng Cha Brunei and NSEY Hotels and Apartments, among others.

With the digitalisation of loyalty cards, Muappy, which was the winner of the Brunei ICT Awards (BICTA) 2019, hoped that users will be able to conveniently have a centralised space for their transactions and collection of points.

As of the launch, the AI integrated loyalty mobile application gathered vendors and partners comprising of F&B, fashion, textile, desserts, cafes, car detailing, accommodation and fitness studios while promising the addition of more establishments in the coming future.

“These are the good things about Muappy, but the true novelty of our application is the cute (virtual) character (every registered user will receive),” said Dr Virrey, adding that the character helps manifest the rewards users have earned.

“Every time you enjoy the services and the products of our vendors, the points you get will help the character grow, it helps create a sense of urgency among users and provides an incentive,” he added.

He went on to highlight how winning the industry category of last year’s BICTA, played an important role in the company’s growth especially since it led them to represent Brunei Darussalam in the Asian Pacific ICT Alliance Awards (APICTA) 2019 in Vietnam.

“It has given us a lot of opportunities, it afforded us self discovery. (Our participation) helped us to know the new cultures surrounding technical advancement and how they can be applied in Brunei”.

The launch of Muappy was officiated by Vice-Chancellor of UBD Datin Hjh Anita Binurul Zahrina Orang Kaya Laila Wijaya Dato Seri Setia Hj Abd Aziz.
