Muara Port Company (MPC) recently held a donation drive to lessen the burden of those in need during the holy month of Ramadhan and support their preparations for the festive Hari Raya Aidilfitri season.
Dubbed the Ramadhan Charity Drive, MPC donated food and household items to families and individuals comprising of MPC staff as well as residents within the Pekan Muara and Kg Kapok area with support from village heads of Mukim Serasa.
The items were distributed by MPC management and staff led by Chief Executive Officer, Zeng Caili.
“The month of Ramadhan is traditionally associated with fasting, reflection and an increased focus on charitable giving,” MPC said in a statement.
“As part of MPC’s annual charity and corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, the employees displayed high team spirit by visiting homes, distributing donations such as household necessities and food contributions.”
MPC hopes that the charity drive will provide welfare support to the company’s internal staff and relief support for the other beneficiaries.
At the same time, the drive is hoped to motivate employees to share acts of kindness and encourage the public to embrace the spirit of giving while reaping the blessings of Ramadhan.
