A NATIONAL budget of $5.3 billion for the financial year 2018/2019 has been approved as the 14th Legislative Council session ended yesterday after a 12-day proceeding.

The budget allocation, which will take effect on April 1, was proposed by the second minister of finance, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Paduka Dr Mohd Amin Liew Abdullah.

A sum of $900 million is also included in the national budget, allocated to fund 182 projects under the 11th National Development Plan (NDP) with 31 projects brought forward from the 10th NDP.

In the previous NDP, 454 out of the 568 approved projects have been completed.
