Network Integrity Assurance Technologies (NiAT) has launched Brunei’s first-ever VSAT Hub service dubbed “ACTIVATE”, a new satellite communication service.

With the service, which runs on the iDirect Evolution platform, the organization aims to provide a far more efficient and flexible bandwidth utilisation and cost-effective VSAT connectivity for all users.

In a statement, NiAT said that ACTIVATE will be offered on both C-band and Ku-band frequencies to cater for a vast majority of requirements and applications, maintaining the SLA at 99.95% and 98.5% for C-band and Ku-band respectively.

NiAT’s main objective and aim with this latest service addition is to connect the unconnected and to enrich the experience of those already connected hence reflecting back to the NiAT tagline “connecting the unconnected”.

Chief Executive Officer of NiAT Lim Ming Soon, at the online launch of the service, said that the 11-year-old company is delighted to still be bringing the best of satellite services to the Brunei market.

“Launching this new service will be yet another milestone for this fully local government-linked company in its efforts to move forward to further strengthening its position as the nation’s premier satellite service provider,” he said.

He added: “NiAT will continue to lead the charge in matters of space and its applications, working alongside those who strive and thrive towards Brunei Darussalam’s Wawasan 2035 as the end goal”.

After the inauguration of the baseband hub, the event continued with a series of webinars delivered by NiAT’s Deputy CEO Siti Nuraazzah PDHA Aziz who gave a run through of the satellite industry relating to the company’s services followed by NiAT’s Head of Technical and Operations Wong Teck Sion sharing the ACTIVATE network architecture and finally by NiAT’s Head of Commercial Zulhairul Shah on subscription packages available for many applications and uses.

The online launch was also attended by multiple sectors from the government, oil and gas, private, international clients and strategic partners. – Analisa Amu
