No new cases of the COVID-19 virus reported in the sultanate today, leading the national tally of confirmed coronavirus cases to remain at 138, the minister of health announced today.
Speaking during a press conference, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Hj Md Isham Hj Jaafar also revealed that one individual has recovered from the COVID-19 virus, bringing the total number of recovered cases to 117.
A total of 20 cases are still undergoing treatment at the National Isolation Centre (NIC), where two of the patients remain in critical condition, both requiring respiratory and heart/lung machine (ECMO) assistance.
As of today, a total of 2,421 individuals have completed their quarantine, while 126 individuals are currently undergoing quarantine in accordance with the Infectious Disease Act (Chapter 204).
In the past 24 hours, a total of 243 samples have been tested for the SARS-CoV-2 virus, bringing the total number of laboratory tests conducted since Janaury 2020 to 12,149 tests.
Meanwhile in regards to cases that have been cured but found to be positive after a follow up examination, the minister announced that one case has recovered and no new of such cases were detected.
This brings the total number of repositive cases to remain at 18, where 11 of the individuals are still undergoing further examination.
