No new cases of COVID-19 were reported today, marking the eighth day without new cases in the sultanate which brings the national tally to remain at 141.

Speaking during a press conference, Minister of Health Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Hj Md Isham Hj Jaafar said that one individual has recovered from the virus, totalling to 135 recovered cases.

Five active cases are still receiving treatment at the National Isolation Cente (NIC), where two individuals are still in critical condition; one still requires both requiring respiratory and heart/lung machine (ECMO) assistance and the other is only on respiratory assistance.

As of today, a total of 2,578 individuals have completed their quarantine, while 101 individuals are currently undergoing quarantine in accordance with the Infectious Disease Act (Chapter 204).

In the past 24 hours, a total of 182 samples have been tested for the SARS-CoV-2 virus, bringing the total number of laboratory tests conducted from January 2020 to 16,705 tests.
