Proton’s range of upgraded models has entered the sultanate with refined designs and advanced features guaranteed to complement any lifestyle.
The extensively refreshed Proton Iriz, Saga and Persona have sharper, sophisticated styling and smart class features.
The official distributor of Proton cars in Brunei, PAD Motors, unveiled the latest models on Friday during an exclusive preview for invited guests and media at the Econ Motors complex in Beribi.

In a speech, Managing Director of PAD Motors, Hj Hambali Pehin Orang Kaya Shahbandar Dato Seri Paduka Hj Mohd Salleh, said customers can expect an amazing line up of Proton models this year.
“Proton will be looking to bolster its brand value and confidence with better after-sales service and the introduction of new technology and integration, coming to all these models from its collaboration with Automotive industry company, Geely.”
He said the company’s collaboration with Geely will elevate the brand further against its competitors this year.

“In the fast-moving world of the automobile industry, the demands of the business have never been greater, expectations of customers on vehicle quality, reliability, safety and utility are at an all-time high.”
“At the same time, overcapacity has put pressure on the worldwide industry to maintain and even reduce vehicle prices,” he said.
Hj Hambali added that the rapid rate of designs from the drawing board going on the road due to pressure from competitors is unbelievable.

According to him, the launching of the X70, Proton’s first SUV less than a year ago, regardless of its success, has not neglected the other models.
“The Saga MC models not only share success in Malaysia but have proven to be even more successful than the X70 while sales for Exora, Persona and Iriz continue to improve.”
The Bruneian News had the opportunity to look at the models up close.

Proton Saga
A model synonymous with the Proton Brand, the new Proton Saga has a more aggressively styled front bumper with integrated day time running lamps.
The latest model is distinct as it features an infinite weave pattern on the front grille, restyled rear bumper and boot lid that now features the PROTON name.
The cabin is dressed with new upholstery, a centre panel, meter combination display with Eco-Drive Assist and three USB ports.

Users can expect a 7-inch touch screen infotainment system with Bluetooth and smartphone connectivity.
In terms of safety, rest assured as the car has Antilock Brakes (ABS) with Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA) for all three variants.
Other safety features include twin front airbags, rear parking sensors and ISOFIX mounting points with top tethers.
Meanwhile, the premium variant includes a Hill Hold Assist, front parking sensors, a reversing camera and Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with a Traction Control System (TCS).

Proton’s new B-Segment twins: the Proton Iriz and Persona
Proton Iriz
Changes to the Iriz are more evident through the brand-new interpretation of the Ethereal Bow front grille that debuted on the Proton X70.
The car stands out with new front and rear bumpers, a black rear garnish, new alloy wheel design as well as a shark fin antenna.
Its race-winning heritage additionally ensures it remains the best handling option in the class.

Proton Persona
Although styled more conservatively than the other models, the Persona still features the Ethereal Bow and Infinite Weave pattern.
A new boot spoiler, new front and rear bumper designs and new alloy wheel designs complete the changes.
Similar to the Proton Saga, the cabin of the Proton Iriz also has a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system offering Bluetooth and smartphone connectivity.

The system also has a mirroring function for Android phones allowing access to apps and features already preloaded on the phone.
For their first roadshow this year, Proton Brunei will be at Times Square Shopping Complex on January 28 with amazing promotions up for grabs.
As the revamped models will be going on tour soon through various events, the public can check on activities and updates on their Facebook ‘Pad Motors Proton Brunei’ and Instagram @padmotors.brunei
