QAF Eurokars, Brunei’s sole distributor of Porsche, is selling genuine car parts for its classic models as it looks to capitalise on the country’s growing market for vintage cars.
Deputy General Manager Lahiru De Silva said that 30 per cent of its genuine parts available at Porsche Centre Brunei at Beribi Industrial Complex are dedicated to classic Porsche cars. However, the service centre only managed to sell 10 per cent of them.
“Currently, not all Porsche owners (in Brunei) are aware that we provide full extent of Porsche services,” he said.
De Silva said that apart from available parts, the centre also prides itself for having certified technicians capable of servicing cars that meet Porsche’s international in-house standards.
“This is not a new service. It is an enhanced one and at the moment, we want to create more awareness for all vintage Porsche car owners,” he added.
Since last year, the service centre has been taking up projects to restore some classic Porsche cars belonging to high-profile individuals in the sultanate.
Earlier this year, the centre restored a classic Porsche 993, and recently a 1995 Carrerra Cabriolet.
Porsche is one of the automotive powerhouses in the world with its own certification system to level its technicians, with their expertise ranked from bronze to gold.
Currently, all of the technicians at Porsche Centre Brunei are silver-level experts.
