From now on, cashless payments can now be made at all public hospitals and health centres using BIBD QuickPay, as part of the nation’s efforts in striving towards becoming a Smart Nation.

Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital became the first public hospital to utilise the BIBD QuickPay mechanism where 19 counters within RIPAS have been equipped with the online payment gateway, including the outpatient and specialist clinics.

Powered by BIBD NEXT GEN, the BIBD QuickPay allows customers to make payments by simply scanning a QR code through the BIBD NEXTGEN Wallet on their smartphones.

Launched in an event officiated by the Minister of Health, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Hj Md Isham Hj Jaafar, the BIBD QuickPay is also an initiative by the Ministry of Health (MoH) in providing the public with alternative payment methods.

It is also aimed at providing greater convenience to members of the public in making payments for services offered by the ministry while promoting greater efficiency by reducing the workload related to cash acceptance and collection.

“Considering that payments will be contactless, customers and staff manning the counters will also reduce the risk of infections that can be spread through touch, especially now when the country is in the midst of the COVID-19 outbreak,” read the statement by the ministry of health.
