BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN
Local Fintech startup BruPay will be hosting a QR Hunt, aiming to educate Bruneians on the features of an e-wallet – with up to $100,000 worth of rewards being up for grabs to those who participated in it.
The two-day event which is also part of the Brunei December Festival (BDF) will see QR codes scattered across the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (YSHHB) Complex and Bukit Shahbandar.
Users are required to solve riddles released via the social media or in-app notifications to find their locations.
Once found, they will have to scan these codes using the BruPay App to receive the reward, which will be credited to their BruPay accounts.
BruPay’s CEO Sophian Mat Suny said the QR hunt is a fun way for Bruneians to experience an e-wallet.
“Learning how to scan a QR code to collect cash is a core function of an e-wallet, which can be done through a single click onto smart phones,” he said.
We hope that the experience of the QR hunt will not only give participants a fun time, but also educate them on how e-wallet can benefit their everyday life,” he added.
The first leg of the QR Hunt will be held between 2pm and 5pm at YSHHB Complex on December 8, and 7am to 10am at Bukit Shahbandar the next day.
