Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) flight to London Heathrow from Bandar Seri Begawan today made a diversion landing at Vienna International Airport due to technical issues on its Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

In a statement from RB, the airline is currently working to ensure all of its passengers safely arrive in London via other carriers.

“The safety and security of our guests is of paramount importance to RB. We apologise for the inconvenience caused and are working to provide updates to affected passengers,” it said.

Based on a tweet by @FlightAlerts_, the BI003 flight had to make the landing at the Austrian airport due to oil leak from the aircraft’s left engine.

However, no further comments were given by RB as of press time.

The national carrier also adviced that its BI004 flight from London Heathrow back to Bandar Seri Begawan today is cancelled.

RB commenced its inaugural direct flight to Britain’s busiest airport on October 28, traveling non-stop for 14 hours daily.
