Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) has won its first-ever ‘Asia’s Leading Cabin Crew’ title at the annual World Travel Awards (WTA), thanks to its excellent hospitality service and products.
The national carrier was awarded the accolade after receiving the most votes in a worldwide poll from travellers which result was announced during WTA’s virtual Asia Winners Day 2020 held earlier today.
Acting Chief Executive Officer of RB Martin Aeberli, in a statement, said that the RB team is delighted to be receiving the top award in the region, extending his heartfelt appreciation to the staff for their dedication and contribution to support the airline’s strategy of service focus and enhanced guest experience.
“As Brunei’s flag carrier, we reflect our Bruneian values in everything we do and the defining trait being the genuine and warm hospitality we deliver to our guests. We’re very proud this has been recognised with the amazing services our crew provides as a representation of the airline and Brunei,” he said.
Aeberli also thanked RB’s loyal guests and supporters who have voted and trusted their truly Bruneian hospitality.
The boutique airline has received a number of key service awards that recognised their excellence in service and products.
“It is an honour to now add this to our list of accolades and winning this award will support us in sharing the news to more guests who we’ll welcome on board when the time is right,” he said.
As a small boutique airline, he added, the award further validates the hard work and progress RB has been making to be become a brand synonymous with hospitality and a warm welcome.
“This is a proud accomplishment for both the airline and Brunei,” said Aeberli.
For his part, the founder of WTA, Graham E Cooke, said that RB has demonstrated unrivalled resilience despite the unprecedented challengers faced by the aviation industry this year, allowing it to continue delivering superb customer service.
Over the past 18 months, RB has received several awards including from professional rating services for the Skytrax 4 Star Airline Rating and APEX official Airline Ratings Five-Star Major Regional Airline award.
Upon winning the award, the airline will be competing for the highest accolade in the industry alongside major international airlines under the Leading Cabin Crew in the world awards to be announced on November 27.
WTA was established in 1993 to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all key sectors of the travel, tourism and hospitality industries. The WTA brand is recognised globally as the ultimate hallmark of industry excellence.
