Royal Brunei Catering (RBC) has rebranded its identity to ‘Royal Brunei Culinary’ and unveiled its state-of-the-art central kitchen at Lambak Kanan West Industrial Site – the largest of its kind in the country.

The 110,000-foot facility which is situated on a two-hectare plot houses the company’s corporate office and kitchen operations that provide for its healthcare, airlines and retail business segments.

The brand new facility which will soon be Hazard Analysis Critcal Control Point (HACCP) certified is set to double RBC’s production capacity and improve operational efficiencies, allowing the company to cater for future growth opportunities, thus elevating RBC’s competitiveness to both domestic and international clientele.

With the new image, RBC has also revealed its new logo that features an elegant aroma, reflecting RBC’s culinary roots and deep ties to Brunei heritage while complementing its tagline “Taste of Modern Brunei”.

RBC’s General Manager Hj Jeff Hadiman Dato Paduka Hj Danial, in his remarks at the launch of the central kitchen, said that having one focal production area with more streamlined recipes, process flows and cooking methods, RBC is confident to deliver enhanced quality and consistency to all of their end users.

“With the new facility, we unlock significant capacity and this is key for our growth and expansion plans. It will also allow us to better our creativity and innovation, as we will have the largest concentration of culinary minds in the country gathered under one roof,” he said.

He added: “We are combining and synergizing our airline, healthcare and events catering kitchens as one holistic operation.”

The company has quadrupled its production capacity; from thousands of meals per day, it is now able to make tens of thousands of meals in a day.

RBC’s kitchen is driven by some 620 staff and comprised of 90 per cent local employment.

Furthermore, the company is also committed to supporting the development and growth of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) by extending their services such as outsourcing the kitchen and commissary provisions, competitive procurement of raw materials and the use of test kitchen facilities and expertise.

“We aim to be the backbone for Brunei’s F&B industry. We look forward to working with everyone; from the micro to the large enterprises with hopes to collaborate with everyone and anyone, as we grow and elevate together,” concluded Hj Jeff.

In attendance to reveal RBC’s new look were Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Hj Mohd Amin Liew Abdullah and Health Minister Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Hj Md Isham Hj Jaafar.

After the reveal, the ministers and invited guests had the opportunity to tour the massive facility for a first-hand experience to see kitchen operations up-close, showcasing culinary excellence by the chefs.
