Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) and Hitit, a leading airline software solutions provider based in Turkey, announced the signing of a strategic partnership agreement on Friday.
The award of this prestigious contract to Hitit is the outcome of an extensive review and evaluation process, conducted by Royal Brunei in conjunction with specialist research firm T2RL.
The new partnership will see Hitit providing the national carrier with their core passenger service systems, an upgraded internet booking engine and mobile application, as well as a variety of supporting solutions covering airport operations, airline loyalty and customer care.
The airline’s global guests will benefit from faster and more intuitive ways of booking flights, a seamlessly integrated passenger experience through the travel journey and value-added travel product options recommended in a personalised way, RB said in a statement.
“As a next-generation airline technology platform, Hitit’s Crane Airline Solution Suite will improve Royal Brunei’s guest engagement at every touchpoint, and enable the airline to match the changing needs of the post-pandemic industry with smarter passenger self-service, automated back-office operations and the ability to introduce innovative products and services in response to customer demand,” it said.
All the solutions are supported by Hitit’s purpose-designed airline hybrid cloud infrastructure, providing scalability and industry-leading security.
This announcement represents the next step in Royal Brunei’s digital transformation programme, to continuously improve guest experience and drive operational efficiency.
The programme has delivered significant technology enhancements including optimised digital channels, launch of RB Holidays, customer relationship & disruption management improvements, operational efficiencies and a revamped focus on the retail of ancillary products.
RB’s Chief Commercial Officer Martin Aeberli in the statement said that the airline’s award-winning onboard service, combined with our modern fleet and compelling network, together with this major new technology investment that will deliver another step forward in digital experience make this an exciting time to look forward at RB.
“Our new partnership with Hitit continues the journey of digital transformation and is one of a number of accelerated project deliveries to prepare the airline for distribution changes and market growth opportunities post the pandemic,” said Aeberli.
Meanwhile, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer at Hitit Nevra Onursal Karaagac said that she is elated to welcome Royal Brunei Airlines into their global Crane community, as its newest partner in a series of recent partnerships in the Asia-Pacific region.
“After a stringent evaluation process with both our teams working closely together, we have come to admire Royal Brunei as a truly visionary airline, and we are looking forward to supporting their passion with the cutting-edge technology at our disposal,” she said.
She further said that Crane PSS powers flag carriers throughout the world, and have built up significant experience in working with airlines through their digital transformation process – which has played an especially important role throughout the pandemic.
“I am confident that our work together will help unlock Royal Brunei’s true potential as a dynamic and digital-era airline for many years to come,” she concluded. – Analisa Amu
