The Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Brunei Darussalam recently hosted a dinner reception to celebrate the 90th National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The event was held at The Empire Brunei and attended by Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Yang Berhormat Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin as the guest of honour.
National anthems of both countries were played soon after the arrival of the minister and spouse, echoing throughout the spacious Indera Samudra Hall 2.
This was then followed by the recital of a verse of the Al-Quran and the doa to bless the beautiful occasion.
To further commemorate the celebration, YB Major General (Rtd) Dato Haji Aminuddin Ihsan and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Brunei Darussalam Emad Abdulaziz Saad Al-Muhanna proceeded with cake cutting and a group photo.
Also joining them on stage were Dean of the Diplomatic Missions and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Sultanate of Oman Sheikh Ahmed Hashil Al-Maskari and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Kuwait Salah Mubarak Al-Mutairi.
Moreover, for a token of appreciation, Ambassador Al-Muhanna presented the minister with a replica of the ‘Masmak’, an important historical landmark in Riyadh, 1902 that played a major part in the history of Saudi Arabia.
He, later on, offered a special gift and bouquet of flowers to the spouse of the minister, Datin Nurhayana Janis Abdullah.
During dinner, invited guests had the chance to watch a short video clip showcasing some of the breathtaking places in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The ambassador also extended his heartiest appreciation to the minister and spouse as well as other guests for joining the embassy to celebrate the joyous occasion.
