Fast, sturdy and powerful – characteristics made possible in Hyundai’s high performance cars, the i30N and i30 Fastback N.

Setia Motors, the sole distributor of Hyundai vehicles in Brunei, recently revealed both models at its Beribi showroom, marking the premiere of the brand’s latest range.

Born in Namyang, Korea and honed in Nurburging, Germany, the N range promises to deliver the ultimate driving experience to users.

In his speech, General Manager of Setia Motors James Chin explained that the N represents the city of Namyang, home to the global R&D center of the Korean carmaker.

The N also stands for the Nürburgring racetrack in Germany, home to Hyundai’s Technical Center, he added.

Furthermore, the N logo represents the classic racetrack chicane; a tight serpentine turn in the road.

Equipped with exclusive engine performance and dynamic technology innovations, both models will satisfy any performance-oriented enthusiasts.

The i30N and the i30 Fastback N are equipped with front-wheel drive, a six-speed manual transmission and customisable performance enhancing elements that enables drivers to enjoy various types of rides.

Users can choose to save fuel or dial up the fun by choosing from five drive modes at the push of a button; Normal, Sport, Eco, N and N custom.

These models are powered by 2.0 T-GDi turbocharged engines with 275PS taking only 6.1 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h, said the distributor’s Senior Sales and Marketing official Fadhillah Sulaiman.

“The N experience is built to get the driver’s heart racing where beats per minute (BPM) are prioritised over revolutions per minute,” he said.

Each with its unique designs, both models are guaranteed to turn heads however the Fastback additionally features a unique sloping roofline, making it a coupe styled vehicle.

Furthermore, drivers can switch up the traction and stability control when necessary without having to worry about safety as the vehicles come with an Advance Driving Assistance system dubbed Hyundai’s SmartSense that includes Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS), Autonomous Emergency Bracking (AEB) and Forward Collision Warning System (FCWS) features.

Both models come in various colours from Polar White, Engine Red, Performance Blue, Micron Grey, Shadow Grey and Phantom Black.

Signature colours for the i30N and i30 Fastback N are Performance Blue and Shadow Grey, respectively.

During the event, Fadhillah presented a detailed description of the N brand to invited guests.

The event then concluded with a key hand over to two new owners of the N brand models presented by Setia Motors General Manager.

Over the weekend, invited guests comprising of car enthusiasts, prospective customers and the local media were given the opportunity to test drive the i30N and i30 Fastback N at Jalan Katok.

Currently, Brunei is the only market in ASEAN to receive Hyundai’s latest N models.

During the first half of 2018, almost 3,000 units of the i30N were sold in Europe while 100 units of the first editions of the i30N were sold in Germany in just 48 hours, online.
