The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Brunei recently held a dinner reception for the media, expressing appreciation for the continuous support given by the local media.
In his welcoming speech, the representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office Andrew H. C. Lee thanked the media for promoting bilateral ties between Brunei and Taiwan and the office’s interactions with local communities, schools, and industrial leaders in the sultanate.
Lee further said that the increasing number of tourists to Taiwan is due to the growing exposure and positive coverage of the island by the local media.
“Tourists arrival from Taiwan into Brunei have also increased sevenfold to a total of 5000 arrivals recorded from January to October this year,” he said.
Taiwan is committed to energise its bilateral relations with Brunei and hopes to continuously facilitate and promote mutually beneficial relations with Brunei.
According to Lee, Taiwan is also willing to share its development experience and collaborate in areas such as technology, digital innovation and improvement in agriculture, education, and health care.
Some 15 local media representatives from both print and online were treated to a delicious spread of fine Chinese cuisine at Li Gong Restaurant, The Empire Brunei.
