Calling all Thai tea lovers!
The popular Thai franchise Chapayom has recently opened its flagship store at Delima Square in Serusop.
Milky or refreshing, hot or cold, this Thai cult-favorite chain has attracted long queues of customers at their 1500 outlets across the globe. Originated from the city of Hat Yai, the brand has been brewing its premium drinks since 1993.
The franchise is also one of the popular brands to introduce premium beverages at affordable pricing, already receiving a positive reception from Bruneian customers.
“We received mostly positive comments from our customers. Of course, there is always room for improvement and we always listen to our customers’ feedback, ideas and their different tastes,” said the Manager of Cha Aroi Company, the Master Franchise for Chapayom Brunei, Daryl Chiew.
The international brand, added Chiew, was awarded the super brand franchise in 2017 by Thailand People Choice Awards for its quality, reliability and distinction.
He further said that the decision to introduce Chapayom in the country was aimed to offer Bruneians a different experience and more choices of quality bubble tea drink from Thailand.
Chapayom Brunei began its soft opening in early April while Chiew initially wanted to get things up and running last year, but the COVID-19 outbreak has put those plans on hold.
“The pandemic makes all these factors even more challenging but we do our best as a team to overcome these adversities,” he said, adding that there were many discussions and meetings conducted with the brand’s principal including giving training, approval, manpower and shipping.
Upon entering the new outlet, customers will be greeted by the tropical shades of green and hip design, creating an inviting atmosphere for customers.
Developed with the accessibility in mind, the first branch for Chapayom is a fast-casual concept where the seating and dining area is minimal. Customers can easily grab drinks after a long day of shopping.
Daryl said that the location comes after they noticed the strategic location near the arterial area of Delima is characterised by retail, restaurants and residential.
What’s on the menu?
The brand introduced five crowd-pleasing series in the local market namely; Signature Series, Special Series, Refreshing Series, Coconut Series and Ice Blended Series.
Chapayom is known for their premium Thai Milk Tea. When Chiew and his partners were travelling in Thailand, they were impressed by the unique taste and quality of the drinks at Chapayom.
The Thai franchise differentiates itself by its aromatic and strong taste. According to him, the tea and coffee are brewed just right with the perfect balance of flavours and consistency.
“Our premium tea leaves are picked by artisans from world famous tea plantations with the best lands for tea cultivation in Northern Thailand, Chiang Rai which is famed for being among the best in the world,” he added.
For Chiew, his personal favourite would be the Coconut Series which include the Thai Milk Tea with Coconut, Chocolate with Coconut and Coffee with Coconut.
The signature Thai Milk Tea with Coconut has quickly become a fan-favourite among its customers with the delicate fragrant Thai milk tea balanced with the smooth rich texture with a hint of coconut. Perfection!
For first-timers, their Thai Milk Green Tea is also highly recommended by Chapayom fans with its strong aromatic tea, making it a great choice for customers who want a more aggressive tea flavor.
“We are eyeing to extending our menu in the future and to also expand our presence in the country by opening more branches,” concluded Chiew, adding that will be opening a few new branches in Batu Bersurat, Kiulap, Rimba and Tutong.
