Rejoice fans of Thailand Bazaar as the much-anticipated event is back this weekend!
The three-day fair which started today will run until 27 June at OneCity Shopping Centre, showcasing food, beverages, products and services of Thailand from 10am until 10pm.
The third edition of the bazaar has more variety than its previous bazaars where the Thailand Embassy in Brunei invited not just food vendors selling authentic Thai food but also local vendors selling imported Thai products.
Visitors will also have the chance to enjoy products from Thai franchise and Thai-owned companies that are involved in agriculture and industry in the sultanate.
In her welcoming remarks at the opening ceremony, the Thai Ambassador to Brunei Wanthanee Viputwongsakul shared that the embassy has successfully two bazaars since the outbreak of COVID-19, thanks to the government’s effective and efficient handling of the disease that allows for the continuation of the initiative.
“This Thailand Bazaar was created as a way to move forward and overcome the challenges of the new norms. In moving forward to overcome the challenges of this pandemic, I am also pleased to share with you that Thailand will re-open the country in order to restart our tourism industry,” she said.
There are about 30 vendors selling authentic Thai food and beverages, cosmetics, clothing, car battery and paints as well as the energy service operator of Thailand, Siam Safetech Brunei.
If you are craving some popular Thai dishes such as Thai Fresh Spring Roll, Som Tam, Mango Sticky Rice, Pad Thai, Tom Yum and Kai Zapp, wait no more and make your way to the first floor of OneCity this weekend.
The opening ceremony was attended by Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Hj Mohd Amin Liew Abdullah and his wife Datin Hjh Noor Yashimah Pg Anak Hj Hashim.
