The Capital Residence Suites recently inked a deal with a Malaysian agency Dhafir Holiday Travel and Tours with hopes to boost tourist visits between Brunei and Malaysia.
Chairman of Dhafir Holiday Dr Amim said that the move to choose Brunei as a holiday destination as part of its ‘Free and Easy’ tour package was due to the country’s cleanliness, peace, and security.
“Brunei has its own uniqueness which not many Malaysians know… there are other places that need to be explored outside of the capital city as well as in other districts,” he said.
He added: “We were told that Brunei has some new shopping areas, quality, and affordable textiles too so I feel that it is a good opportunity… not only that, the local culture, food and the MIB concept are good factors for people (Malaysians) to come visit.”
For the partnership, the tour agency offers its Malaysian customers affordable rates that include accommodation at The Capital Residence Suites, transportation and other services, suitable for family and group travelers.
“We choose the hotel as our partner due to its ideal location at the heart of the capital where places of attractions are easy to reach such as the water village and Royal Regalia Museum. It (the hotel) has its own market,” Dr Amim said.
Moreover, the tour agency also offers similar ‘Free and Easy’ package to Bruneians who wish to travel to Malaysia whereby travelers will be guaranteed transportation, accommodation and flexible itinerary.
“Unlike the conventional group tour, ours is all up to the client on where to go and what are the things they want to do according to the services we have. One thing for sure, guests are treated like a VIP,” the chairman said.
On his part, General Manager of The Capital Residence Suites Elhan Wan Hassan said that they are honoured to be chosen as the partner and as the preferred accommodation for the travel package.
Convenience and added value service are what makes them different than other businesses around the area.
“We make our guests’ stay worth their money; we offer a full-service stay as we have apartment rooms which tourists with family prefer to stay and we provide shuttle services for all guests. Places around us are walking distance and that it is convenient for them,” he said.
Talking about the average number of nights the hotel guests would stay, he said: “On average it is about five nights and we have guests who stayed for 14 – 21 days. We have returning European guests too who love to come back to Brunei especially during Ramadhan as they want to experience the fasting period.”
Some of The Capital Residence Suites’ guests are from the US, China, Korea, Japan, Europe, Australia and Malaysia, among others.
In attendance during the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was Chairperson of Working Committee Board of Directors at The Capital Residence Suites Hjh Nurol Hairaniah Hj Md Taha.
“We are very proud to have this MoU and in line with our slogan ‘Beyond Our Expectations’, (hopefully) it gives us more opportunities to make our businesses a success while also giving employment opportunities to youth,” she said.
