The all-new Porsche Macan S delivered a seamless blend of everyday practicality along with the sportiness and powerful aspects from the German auto-making powerhouse.
The Bruneian recently had a chance to ride behind the wheels of the new car – and was first captivated by its spectacular blend of technology, style and refinement.
The Macan S comes equipped with the 3.0-litre V6, with peak outputs of 260 kW that can go from 0 to 100km/h in just 5.1 seconds.
Visually, the latest Macan line-up stayed true to its heritage; retaining its beauty despite having some changes to its designs.
The obvious change would be the eye-catching LED light strip in the rear, resembling that of the new Porsche Panamera, enhanced by the new four-point brake lights, both functionally and visually.
Stepping inside the cabin, the interior screams premium elegance, borrowing features from the Porsche 911 which focuses on luxury and avant-garde finishes.
The interior boasts beautifully sculpted leather seats, a superb steering, and the interior controls are elegant and well-designed.
The main highlight would be the 10.9-inch full HD touchscreen, equipped with the latest version of PCM infotainment system – responsive and easy to use.
Testing the car from One Riverside to the Berakas Highway, the Macan S managed to prove its prowess as it demonstrated a great cornering grip and balance.
Even on tight roads the steering provided just about enough feedback to live up to the sports-car billing.
The luxury crossover drives extremely well, exhibits superb body control, and has consistently powerful brake. Lest to forget, the whole drive was also incredibly smooth and quiet.
The overall impression is that, the Macan S satisfies both in sportiness and elegance. It is comfortable, practical and easy to drive – perfect for long journeys.
As for safety features, the Macan S is fully equipped with a standard deck of active safety features including Lane Change Assist, ParkAssist including reversing camera and Night vision Assist, among others.
Members of the public interested to test the all-new Porsche Macan S can visit QAF Eurokar’s headquarters in Beribi. More enquiries can also be directed there.
